Zenfolio | John's Wild World | About

I have had an interest in wildlife and the open countryside from a very early age and continue to get great satisfaction from the wide open spaces and its inhabitants.

I have also had an interest in photography for many years and that interest has increased significantly since I changed to 'digital' around twelve years ago.
Most of my photography is associated with wildlife and landscapes but occasionally I devote some time to other subjects.

My equipment currently includes :-

For bird and wildlife - A Canon 7D and Sigma 100-300mm f4 EX DG HSM lens and Sigma 1.4 EX DG TC,

for landscape and general - a Canon 60D, a Canon 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 STM IS lens, a Canon 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS USM lens and a Sigma 10-20mm f4-4.5 EX lens,

for macro and close ups - a Canon 40D and Tamron 90mm f2.8 SP Di Macro lens with a Kenko 1.4 Teleplus Pro 300 TC,

and for in the car and carrying around - a Canon S120

In addition - a Monfrotto 679B monopod with 234RC head and a Giottos MTL 9351B tripod with Manfrotto 804RC2 head.

I also participate/post  from time to time on other websites such as  'ePhotozine', 'World Photography Forum', 'Flickr' and 'Bird Forum'.

I get a great deal of enjoyment from photography and I continually strive to improve the quality of the images I produce.
